LTA presentations 2011

Members of Desford Tennis Club were out in force at the Tennis Leicestershire Annual Awards Evening at the Leicester Tigers Ground. This annual awards event was hosted by Mike Harrison, President of Leicester Tigers Rugby Club, with the President of Tennis Leicestershire and former British number 1 Mark Cox making the opening speech and Annabel Croft making the presentations and being a very entertaining and informative guest speaker.
The Ladies Team Captain, Annette Fryer, received the Summer Division 7A winners certificate from Annabel Croft, with the rest of the team present in the audience. The team were also finalists in the Team Award Category.
Desford ladies team member Zara Jurenko just pipped her coach Alec Matty to win the Special Disability Award, with Mark Cox paying tribute following her double gold medal winning performance at the Special Olympics European Games in Poland.
Alec Matty was also a finalist for the Coach Award.
